Many travelers will include a visit to Machu Picchu to their bucket list. However once you realize you are going to Peru it is very hard to not want to visit other parts of the country as well. Peru is appealing to international visitors . Transportation is not as easy to navigate as in Western countries . That being said the Peruvian government put a large effort into making the country more approachable to Tourism .
In the southern part of Peru transportation options get more limited. I have tried Cruz del Sur busses from lima to Paracas. The bus line is catered to travelers and peruvians who like to vacation. TV entertainment and reasonable add to the draw. The meals are just as bad as any bus food you find anywhere else. Local buses would not be the easiest of use unless you are probably tagging along with a resident. Although not the most glamorous ride , this is a good alternative when you are trying to reach areas with no airports.
